What Is Orthodontic Treatment?

I attended the dentist here this morning for the 1st time, and I have to say how wonderful they are. The receptionists were so welcoming and happy. The dentist and dental nurse were amazing, kind and patient ❤
I felt totally listened to and heard. They explained everything with kindness and patience. The lady/radiographer who did my x-rays was calm, patient and explained everything, even when I was so nervous and disorientated I forgot my left from my right. This was most definitely the best experience I ever had at any dentist.

I first went to Advance Dental Care to straighten my teeth, however I have anxiety about dentists. I went for my first appointment and I was made for feel relaxed and talked through all the options available to me and also payment plan options. Each appointment I went to the staff maintained an amazing attitude and put me at ease. They always treat you as an individual and take a keen interest into you as a person which is something I’ve never felt from any other dentist before. I cant recommend Advance Dental Care highly enough. I carried out a lot of research before my treatment and went around a few practices in the Cardiff area. As soon as I was seen at Advance Dental Care I knew that was where I wanted to have my treatment. The team were all welcoming and friendly. They always tried to find appointments to suit my needs which a big help as I live an hour away and travel is difficult at times due to work commitments. The treatment itself was pain free as stated. I had fixed braces, top and bottom. My top braces were behind my teeth and my bottom braces were to the front of my teeth. The process was lengthy but that was purely down to the stubbornness of my teeth and the extent of the treatment I needed. I have recently finished my treatment and have recommended Advance Dental Care to friends and family, one of which has had treatment and another in the process of undergoing treatment. The cost of my treatment was very reasonable and packages are available if needed. No doubt you will find cheaper options out there if you keep looking but I can assure you that wont get the quality of finish or the exceptional level of care offered here.

Having always been petrified of the dentist and requiring extensive dental work ... I did my research and for me discovered the best dentist in the world Mr Nourish. He restored my faith in dentistry as all through this long process he promised me it wouldn't hurt and it hasn't and we've also injected , pardon the pun, humour into the appointments that may seem strange but it helped me to remain calm. Also mustn't forget the nursing and reception staff they are always smiling, happy to chat and brilliant at putting patients at ease. What Orthodontic Treatments Are Available?

At Advance dental care, Cardiff, Dr Andrew Nourish offers one of the greatest ranges of orthodontic treatments in and around Cardiff and Penarth. We offer revolutionary, tooth straightening systems being one of one of only a few dentists in the country certified to use Fastbraces ® or Inman Aligners ®.

Now, Dr Andrew Nourish can straighten your teeth in less time. Inman Aligners ® can straighten front teeth in 6 to 16 weeks and Fastbraces ® can completely correct your smile in 3 months to about a year. We also offer more conventional fixed braces with metal and tooth-coloured or ceramic brackets; and virtually invisible braces and Invisalign ®. Whatever your orthodontic problem Dr Andrew Nourish has the experience and one of the widest range of straight teeth systems to get you the smile you desire.

How Do Fixed Braces Work?

These are the more traditional ‘train track’ braces. They are affordable and very effective. For patients who would like a more subtle look, we can use tooth-coloured brackets instead of metal ones.

After an initial examination, we will talk with you about your orthodontic needs and your expectations, and will advise the treatment that is best suited to you, your lifestyle and your budget.

We will take impressions (moulds) of your teeth so we can create your braces. A week or two later, you will be fitted with your braces. We will advise you on how best to care for your teeth and braces – it is vital to follow this advice to avoid potential permanent damage to your teeth.

You will need to see us regularly (usually every 6 to 8 weeks) so we can check your progress and adjust the wires on your braces. Treatment usually takes 18 to 24 months.
